We finally have live TV coverage in the States now and the roads are indeed saturated. There have been at least two crashes with riders finishing covered in blood.
For those who don’t ride, the painted sections of road are the most dangerous when wet, often causing wheels to slip even on straight roads.
Jens Voigt is finishing now. It is good to see him after his horrific crash last year and he finishes in 39th place and will surely fall farther as the big boys have yet to hit the road.
